Consciousness exists; Psychologists, philosophers and scientists all study it. But what actually is it, and how do we know when we’re being conscious/ present? This episode is where I transform a personal crisis into something of value. The Mandarin character for ‘crisis’ has two meanings ‘danger’ and ‘opportunity.’ This crisis is in fact an opportunity for me to share stories from my life, let you witness some of the hurt and shame, and how I moved forward. Learning to be vulnerable is one of the greatest skills I’ve ever acquired, and has lead me to success. Maya Angelou describes success as ‘liking yourself, liking what you do, and liking how you do it.’   Show Notes: For my blogs, retreats, teacher trainings and Yoga teacher mentoring, visit my website. • Yoga Pose Podcast 68 : Enough -Season 3 Finale

    08/04/2019 Duration: 12min

What is enough? Don't seek to earn, be or have enough. Seek satisfaction.   A study was done by the University of London to measure happiness and material wealth, it found that seeing friends and relatives most days is worth the equivalent of a pay rise of over £60k. That’s something to reflect on when demands at work are high. No one ever empties their inbox or clears the To Do list, so when you finish you’re working day, take a moment to feel satisfied with what you’ve achieved.   I recommend you read 'Enough' by John Naish. And join my book group. A great place to read and relax is on retreat, with me! Here's my schedule. • Yoga Pose Podcast 62: A Handful of Salt

    25/03/2019 Duration: 07min

A Handful of Salt is a reference to a wonderful little story about how to understand the challenges and pains of life. I’ve found it particularly helpful in recent months. I talk about charging your practice with intention, it’s not enough to practice Yoga and Meditation, (or anything else you do as an act of self care) you really have to mean it!   Show Notes: Let's hang out, join me on a retreat Here's my awesome blog, you can receive these articles direct to your inbox when you subscribe. • Yoga Pose Podcast 63: Feeling Emosh Meditation

    20/03/2019 Duration: 09min

Feeling emosh, or 'emotional' as anyone like myself who's over 30 years old should be saying is natural. It's part of the human condition.   Clear 10 minutes in your schedule for this lovely guided meditation but please note: There’s no need to meditate however if you find yourself unflustered by all that life throws at you. Because when you meditate you change your relationship with your feelings in such a way that (eventually) you feel upset as when an unpleasant situation arises.   Show Notes:   Let's do this in person! Join me on a retreat. Yes, there's space so check out my schedule here. Here's a fun little blog called 'don't hate, meditate.' You can connect with me on Facebook & Instagram And finally, to access my beautiful playlists on Spotify, just follow me.

  • Yoga Pose Podcast 60: What's It All For?

    25/02/2019 Duration: 11min

What's it all for? What are we working towards and to what end? I'm feeling all reflective after  challenging few weeks, and watching some documenaries. I've been looking back on previous careers and now regret some of the sacrifices I made... I was so focused on targets or promotions that years went by without looking up. Super cliche but life is short, and regular check ins of 'what's it all for? Why am I doing this?' is really healthy. At the end of this epsiode I'll ask you a few questions to help get you in the mood for reflection and living a life of pleasure and purpose.     Show Notes: There is time to book a space on one of my wonderful weekend Yoga and Medtiation Retreats. Sandi Toksvig A National Trevor Show Sergei Poulnin dances to 'Take Me To Church.'
